Raspberry Pi is a tiny computer board the size of a credit card. It can perform many of the same tasks as a desktop PC, including spreadsheets, word processing, gaming, and high-definition video playback. It was created by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in the United Kingdom.

The system comes into two different models that are model A and model B. The main differences between these two are the USB ports. The model A board does not include an Ethernet port and will consume less power. Model B includes an Ethernet port and is manufactured in China. The raspberry pi comes with a set of open source technologies that is communication and multimedia of web technologies and the ability to interact with microcontrollers. It is the portability of a mobile device.

Raspberry Pi Specifications:

Memory:

The Raspberry Pi has 256 MB of SDRAM in the earlier model A and 512 MB in the newer model B. In comparison to other PCs, it is a little PC. The RAM memory on a typical PC is measured in gigabytes, but with this programme, the RAM memory is greater than 256 Mb or 512 Mb.

CPU:

The Raspberry Pi’s key component is the CPU. It is in charge of carrying out a computer’s instructions using mathematical and logical operations. Using the ARM11 series CPU, the Raspberry Pi is a good company. Samsung Galaxy has joined the ranks of phones.

GPU:

The graphics processing unit (GPU) is a specialized chip in raspberry pi. It is designed to speed up the manipulation of image calculations. The raspberry pi comes equipped with a Broadcom video-core IV and it is supported for OpenGL.

Ethernet Port:

The raspberry pi Ethernet port is the main gateway for communicating with other devices. You will be able to use the raspberry pi   Ethernet port to plug your home router to access the internet.

GPIO Pins:

The Raspberry Pi’s general-purpose input and output pins are used to connect to other electrical boards. The GPIO pins can accept input and output commands from a raspberry pi that has been programmed.

Digital GPIO pins are available on the Raspberry Pi. Other electronic components are connected to these pins. You could, for example, connect it to a temperature sensor that sends digital data.

XBee Socket:

The raspberry pi proves two XBee sockets for wireless communication purposes.

Power Source Connector:

The power source selector is a small switch it is located on side of the shield that can be used to enable an external power source.

UART:

The UART  are a serial input and output port. This can be used to transfer the serial data such as text and it is useful for transforming the debugging code.

Raspberry Pi Development Board Model A:

The Raspberry Pi is a Broadcom BCM2835 chip-based system. The Raspberry Pi has an ARM1176JZF-S core CPU running at 700 MHz and 256 MB of SDRAM. Only your external data connectivity options are used by the USB 2.0 ports. The Raspberry Pi is powered by a micro USB adaptor with a 500 MA minimum range (2.5 watts). The graphics specialist chip is intended to accelerate picture calculation manipulation. This comes with a Broadcom video-core IV cable, which is helpful if you want to utilise your Raspberry Pi to play games and watch videos.
